CAST IN HIS IMAGE
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was in the beginning
God made the world
And all that was in it.
But there was just a bit more in store
Far more!
Because He wasn’t done,
He would yet send His Son
You see, Gods heart was warmed
When this man was formed and…
He filled him with the gust of His breath
From nativity to death
Earths dwelling became the dust of his birth
So from age to age we celebrate the worth
For one day God laid beneath the earth
And made a cast that would last
From it He formed man,
It was as according to His plan
Then He breathed His Spirit deep within him
Do you not yet understand?
Like the Father, though just a glimpse
To be the first of all mankind
He made him in His likeness and image…
For Adam was the first of his age
Humankind from the Fathers page
And directed from His power,
In that very hour
But that same man went his own way
For there was one day when this man did stray
And God in His wisdom
Sent His only begotten Son
Of the God incarnate one; His only son
To bring our race back home
For our sins did He atone
It is finished, to never be diminished
So since the final work was done
Will we shake off the dust of this earth,
And become the person from our birth?
To fully know our true worth?
Cast in the image of the Father God
He is well pleased to give you applaud
For you are far more than what you think
Our earthly lives will be gone in a blink
So live with purpose and design
And let your heart fully align
He knew you from the first,
And He’s asking you to thirst
Will you go forth in His likeness
And dare great things?
Give praise and adoration
Let your heart sing
To Him for what life does bring…

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.”
Psalms 139:13-18
