JOSEPH’S PROMOTION
Pharaoh finds a worthy man in Joseph to lead this operation…
So then Pharaoh said to his servants
Where can we find a man like this?
A man with brilliance
In whom is the Spirit of God?”
He then looked and said, So Joseph,
Yes, your majesty…
Since God has shown you all this travesty
There is none so discerning as to miss
And we see none as wise as you are.
So you shall be over my house as czar
And all my people shall order
Themselves at your command
Only as regards to the throne
Where you stand
Will I be greater than you
See, see, I have set you over all our land
Then he took his signet ring from his hand
And put it on Joseph’s, upon command
He was clothed in garments
Of fine linen and set with a gold chain
About his neck to show his reign
He was made to ride in the second chariot.
Bow the knee! We will yet remain to be free!
Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt
I do declare without your consent
No one shall lift up hand or foot to descend
And to Joseph he gave a new name
It was given as Zaphenath-paneah,
Now a man of honor and fame
Then he gave him in marriage to Asenath
The daughter of Potiphera priest of On.
So he went and traversed over all the land
By now he was a thirty year old man
So he entered into this service
For all of Egypts land and surface
And Joseph went out from the king
Throughout all the land of Egypt
During the seven plentiful years
The earth produced abundantly
And all it’s people had no fears
We gathered up all the food
Of these seven years, and it was good
For all that occurred in the land of Egypt,
and we stored the food in the cities.
We put, in every city
The food from the fields around it
And I stored up grain in great abundance
Like the sand of the sea
Until I ceased to be able to even measure
Before the year of famine came
Two sons were born to my wife
Asenath, was the love of my life
I, Joseph called our firstborn Manasseh.
God has made me forget
Hard times that had beset me
The name of my second boy
I called him Ephraim, for he was such a joy!
For God has made me fruitful
In the land of my afflictions
And I remained steady in my convictions
Then the seven years of abundance
Ended and then came droughts abhorrence
We barely could remember the good times
For all the land was barren to climb
So famine was in all of the lands
However in Egypts sands there was bread
And all the peoples cried out and said
We are so famished with dread
And have no sustenance today
They came to me imploring me to say
Open the vaults of grain this day
For Pharaoh had told to so go to you
What he says to you, so do
Once the drought had spread as main
I opened all the stores for the breads grain
And we sold to the Egyptians with vigor
For the famine became quite severe
Moreover, all the earth came to me
The drought was so extreme
I just marveled at Gods hand of protection
Despite this mighty affliction
BROTHERS JOURNEY TO EGYPT
Well, when I, Jacob
( I also go by Israel)
Learned of the Egyptian grain for sale
I said, We need to go get a few bales
Boys, why do you look at one another so?
As if you don’t know what to do…
Behold, I have heard that Egypt has grain
And we have none, being we’ve had no rain
Go down and buy some reserves
That we may live and so preserve
Our families and herds
So ten of his boys,
Who can certainly make some noise
Went down to buy rations
To a strange nation
Departing with reservations
But I did not send my youngest Benjamin,
For I did fear that harm might befall him.
So my sons came to buy among the others
For they were ten and all were brothers…

To be continued…JOSEPH MEETS HIS BROTHERS
Now read it for yourself. God’s word is what changes us from within!
“And the food shall be for a store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said unto his servants,
Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom the spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph,
Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou: thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him,
Bow the knee: and he set him over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On.
And Joseph went out over the land of Egypt. And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt.
And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
And he gathered up all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
And Joseph laid up grain as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left off numbering; for it was without number.
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the year of famine came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, bare unto him.
And Joseph called the name of the first-born Manasseh: For, said he, God hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.
And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.
And the seven years of plenty, that was in the land of Egypt, came to an end.
And the seven years of famine began to come, according as Joseph had said: and there was famine in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians,
Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do. And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the store-houses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine was sore in the land of Egypt.
And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy grain, because the famine was sore in all the earth.”
