THE NARROW PATH
A poem from a while ago.
THE NARROW PATH
What is the narrow path?
Is it just a narrow way?
Or a notion of a deeper devotion?
Or is it an ocean of the seated life in motion?
The way that I must pray?
What if I unwittingly stray?
To choose who I follow
will lead me to where I will go
Though just what will this really show?
Ruth chose well when she said
Wherever you go I will go
Your people will be my people
Your God will be my God
For she was lead to her destiny
And became of the Messiahs line
For many an age she was bestowed honor because of her courage
But did she know this and dismiss it?
No! That favor was not the factor
In this honors harvest, for she had no idea…
But rather in obedience and plea
She followed and went where she did not know
The one true Gods voice she chose it so
So When I choose who, I choose where
When I hear His lead, I find Him there
My decisions will makes waves
And so I decide to follow Him who saves
Like Ruth decided to follow the one true God
And it was no mere dare or easy fare
God builds my life on where I stay
For His favor is on the narrow way
So judge no thing before its appointed time
No matter how difficult the climb
God works all things together for His good
Though often not understood
According to His plans and purpose
With the promise of white fields of harvest
The fields that will give us plenty as we yield
For favor is found in the fertile field
Along the narrow road
And He is Our refuge and our shield
He’s meant to bear the load
So see what others don’t see
For you will find what you are looking for
And always seek, for He will open the door
But in the midst of the pain
You must still gather the grain
And with a clean heart and mind
So remain on the narrow path
For a humble heart can so achieve
To relieve any foolish man’s wrath
But pride bares no thanks and leads to bitterness
You see, God orders our steps
as we walk the narrow road
He will help us in our harvest
so we can be at rest
Gods favor meets us in our field
Can we therefore glean and yield?
Should we rest in our kinsman redeemer?
As our brother and our friend?
It is He who restores us
To our rightful end
For we lost it when mankind began
But its now fulfilled
With the dying of Gods son
A foreshadowing of the true believers hope
In our redeemer Friends scope
For His reign shall never end
The blessings and the burdens
through the narrow way
Are the eternal path
that Christ alone did pay
For all of all life’s triumphs and trials
There can be no denials
With providence and provision
come harvest and honor
So these we must choose to garner
For His eternal love story remains
And it’s of His unending glory’s flame
Romans 8:28
The book of Ruth
Phil 4:12-14
There are paths that we choose everyday. Which way is going to be the best? Often we do not know. Knowing our Fathers heart helps us in these times. We learn to plant good seed and wisely yield a good crop.
It’s a narrow path with an abundant harvest in store for us.
